What are Serve Teams?
Serve Teams are all of our different volunteer teams that support the ministry of Immanuel Baptist Church. They are a way for you to use your gifts and passions to make a difference in the local church and your community.
There are lots of different teams to serve on. From greeting visitors on Sunday morning to helping with administrative tasks throughout the week, each team makes an eternal impact.

How has God made you?
How has God made you?
You're made on purpose, for a purpose
We believe there is no great divide between the “ministers” and the “congregation.” Everyone has something they can do to impact the lives of others in the Kingdom of God. God has uniquely made you to make a difference right where you are.
The SHAPE Test helps you figure out how God has made you to be a part of His mission on Earth. This assessment helps you explore your spiritual gifts, heart (the things you’re passionate about), abilities, personality, and experiences to help you use all of them for the Kingdom of God.
After you take the test, be sure to email the results to Ownership@WeAreIBC.com so we can get you connected to a Dream Team that’s right for you!

Serve Team Articles
These articles and stories will help you understand the impact serving has on your life and the lives of others.

Serve Stories: Called to the Next Generation
Brenda didn’t arrive at youth ministry by accident. For her, serving with students isn’t something she fits into her schedule. It’s simply part of who she is.

Serve Stories: Towels, Testimonies, and All the In-Between
Brittany didn’t sign up for the baptism team because she wanted something to do on Sunday mornings. She signed up because she remembered what it felt like to simply be in the moment when her own kids were baptized, and she wanted to give that gift to someone else.

Serve Stories: The First Face You See
Allen leads the parking lot team at Immanuel’s Williamsburg Campus, which means he’s one of the first faces people see on a Sunday morning. But for Allen, handing out smiles and waving cars into spots is about a lot more than traffic flow.

Serve Stories: Making a Joyful Noise
Jonah picked up the guitar in college and made a simple decision: if he had the desire to play music, he ought to use that skill to honor the Lord. What followed was a spot in the worship band, a weekly rhythm of serving, and a faith that’s been both encouraged and humbled along the way.

Serve Stories: From Stranger to Safe Space
Owen wasn’t looking for a calling when he signed up to volunteer with IBCKids. He just had some free time after graduating and figured he’d give it a week. That was a year ago. What he found on the other side of that decision has shaped his faith, his patience, and his Wednesday evenings ever since.
