The idea of tithing (bringing the first 10% of our income to the Church) seems overwhelming for many of us. Tithing is about training our heart to trust God at His word. In Malachi 3:10, the Bible says that when we bring our first and best back to God, He promises to bless the rest. We can’t out-give God!
If you haven’t started tithing yet, we want to encourage you to take the 90 Day Tithe Challenge. We commit to you that if you tithe for three months and God doesn’t hold true to His promises of blessings, we will refund 100% of your tithe. Guaranteed.
3 Reasons To Tithe
1. It's An Act Of Worship
Whether you’re referencing the Old Testament or New Testament, giving to God with a pure heart is an act of worship. By giving a portion to God, you’re trusting in Him to use it to further His Kingdom. You’re also acknowledging that everything comes from Him and that He’ll continue to provide for you.
2. To Bless Others
The book of Acts tells us that Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” We’re instructed in 2 Corinthians 8:7 to "excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us – see that you also excel in this grace of giving."
3. To Further The Kingdom
How can we expect the Gospel to be spread if we don’t support ministries financially? We’re instructed in Matthew 28:19 to "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit." The reality is that working in ministry requires supplies and if we don’t give, who will?
